A Season for Making

'A Season for Making'

I show up each day

at the altar of making.

For one hundred days,

I put pen to paper,

because it is joyful.

Some days I burn the eggs,

others delight at a perfect soufflé.

But here I am —

torching my resistance,

wide-eyed with flow,

birthing a shimmering thing

onto the page.

This is my season to say:

I am a writer.

Art by Troche.
